Modeling Competition
The Richard McDermott Miller Modeling Competition at The Art Students League of New York.
The 2019 conference began on Friday morning, June 14, with ten sculptors, ages 21 to 35, sculpting in The Richard McDermott Miller Modeling Competition. The four-hour program was held at the fabled Art Students League of New York. Fellow sculptors and art patrons watched as the young artists sculpted from a live model in the timed competition.
At the end of the event, the room was cleared of guests and competitors, the works were numbered, and an awards jury was ushered in to select the three top-winning sculptures. Sculptors included: Anthony Alemany, Alejandro Buchner, Rick Casali, Miguel del Rey, Rubin Gabeau, Justin Kendall, Evan Morse, Brittany Ryan, Robert Stutler and Gabrielle Trom.
